With his style originating from a grown love for jazz-based hip-hop beats, Bastido’s music is incessant in its relaxed and stress-free sounds since the release of his debut beat tape "travels:barcelona" in 2018. Being streamed over 5 million times to date, the album marked the start of the artist's jazzy lofi sound, which was soon to establish itself in major Spotify playlists. Since 2021, the musician and producer has been fusing his originally instrumental sound more and more with influences from alternative R&B, neo-soul and jazz. The post-pandemic releases „Sera“ (2021) and „Alba“ (2022) should therefore be seen more as collaborative projects in which artists and singers from a wide range of genres were involved leading to the unconventional style and sound of both projects.
With the collaboration album „Mid 20s“ with singer Lia J, Bastido released a project that not only thematically reflects the 20s of our lives, but also ambiguously mirrors the 20s of the 21st century in all its crises and characteristics.
